April 2019, Bandar Lampung City experienced inflation of 0.69 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 135.49 in March 2019 to 136.42 in April 2019. Of the seven expenditure groups, four groups experienced inflation or an increase in the index in Bandar Lampung City, namely the foodstuffs group experienced inflation of 2.85 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.04 percent; clothing group 0.31 percent; and the health group 0.51 percent. In contrast, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group experienced a deflation (decline in index) of 0.07 percent and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience changes in the index.
The contribution of the general expenditure group in the formation of inflation in April 2019 was 0.69 percent. The four expenditure groups, namely, the foodstuffs group contributed to the formation of inflation by 0.67 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.01 percent; clothing and health groups contributed inflation of 0.02 percent respectively. In contrast, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group contributed a deflation of 0.02 percent and the transport, communication and financial services group contributed a deflation of 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience changes in the index.
Some of the dominant commodities contribute to the formation of inflation in April 2019 including: 0.27 percent red onion; garlic 0.21 percent; 0.06 percent orange; chicken eggs 0.05 percent; vegetable tomatoes 0.04 percent; 0.03 percent race chicken meat; asbestos 0.02 percent; live chicken 0.02 percent; specialist doctor 0.01 percent; and only 0.01 percent.
