January 2019, Bandar Lampung City experienced inflation of 0.24 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 135.15 in December 2018 to 135.47 in January 2019. Of the seven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation in Bandar Lampung City , namely the foodstuffs group experienced inflation of 0.93 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.21 percent; clothing group 0.61 percent; health group 0.16 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group 0.14 percent. In contrast, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group experienced a deflation of 0.12 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.21 percent.
The contribution of the general expenditure group in the formation of inflation in January 2019 was 0.24 percent. The foodstuffs group contributed to the formation of inflation by 0.23 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group at 0.03 percent; clothing group 0.03 percent; health group 0.01 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group 0.01 percent. In contrast, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group contributed a deflation of 0.04 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.03 percent.
Some of the dominant commodities contributed to the formation of inflation in January 2019 including: rice, 0.12 percent; cung kediro 0.05 percent; shallots 0.04 percent; 0.03 percent snack / snack; water spinach 0.03 percent; vegetable tomatoes 0.02 percent; child school uniforms 0.02 percent; jengkol 0.01 percent; 0.01 percent spinach; and foreign language courses 0.01 percent.
